I recently came across an amazing concept for organizing your emergency preparedness efforts. It is called "The Power of Three" - namely, what you should be prepared for in the first 3 minutes of an emergency, then the first 3 hours, the first 3 days, the first 3 weeks, and the first 3 months. The organization of these time frames really spoke to me and made things a lot more "doable".
